Steinway Boutique Manila Presents Japanese Violinist Lina MatsudaJuly 31, 2019
Last 22nd of July, music enthusiasts were able to have a delightful evening listening to the enchanting pieces of Japanese violinist Lina Matsuda accompanied by Filipino pianist April Merced-Misa. Matsuda played five classical compositions using her Stradivarius violin for the first time in the Philippines.
The recital started off with Fritz Kreisler’s prelude and allegro, followed by Tempo di menuetto and Schoen Rosmarin. Gerald Finzi’s Elegy (Op.22) came next and left a heartwarming yet somber note to the audience. The last piece performed was Chaconne by Tomaso Antonio Vitali. Overall, the audience was highly impressed with their performance and was enraptured by the vibrations and quality of sound of Lina Matsuda’s Stradivarius violin along with the Steinway B211.
Some attendees of this intimate recital were Madame Ihoko Haneda, wife of Japanese Ambassador Koji Haneda, and Japan Foundation Manila Director Hiroaki Uesugi.
This event was in partnership with BDO Nomura Securities President Mr Koichi Katakawa.
